Keyboard

We have a large range of digital learning resources to support different styles of individual and large-group keyboard teaching.

Individual and small group tuition – use the one-year progressive notation-based resources in the Keyboard Collection module
Large group/Wider Opportunities – use inspira Keyboard – a one-year song-driven programme with full planning and assessment support
We also have several lesson modules aimed at older pupils, where they can direct their own learning over a number of courses

Modules include:

Keyboard Foundation – a complete keyboard primer designed for use with all portable keyboards. Students learn note values, pitches, music-reading and develop two-handed playing, listening and performance skills.

Keyboard Improver – follows on from Keyboard Foundation introducing more notes, chords and songs. Students also learn some pieces by listening, watching and copying.

Contemporary Keyboard – 5 contemporary dance tracks each with a student keyboard part illustrating different roles the keyboard can play within a band. The keyboard parts can all be learnt by copying and listening, so music-reading ability is not required. Similarly, as the keyboard parts are all single-line right hand parts, prior keyboard skills are not essential.

Cool Songs for Keyboard – two very well-known songs arranged as keyboard solos. The soul and rap styles of the songs and the fact that the tunes are based on easy-to-memorise riffs mean they can be learnt by listening and watching as well as or instead of reading notation.

Enjoy Playing Keyboard – an accessible collection of tunes and solos that help students build confidence playing entertaining repertoire.
